6 Month Old Report and Some Outtakes

Alex went to his sixth month appointment today. Overall he is very healthy but he is still very small. He is now in the 3% for weight but normal for everything else. Alex laughed the whole time the doctor was in the room. Apparently he was very funny although we weren't sure why.

The other day Brandon and I were looking through our pictures of Alex. It was amazing to see how much he has changed in only six months. We also found ourselves laughing A LOT at some of the more hilarious pictures of Alex. Normally I only include the cutest pictures of him so I thought you might enjoy some of the "outtakes."

This one is probably my favorite.

This one is not an outtake. I just thought it was cute and wanted to include it.

Indiana Jones and the Diaper of Doom

I just want to note that Brandon made up the title to this post. Since it was Alex's first Halloween we wanted his costume to be special. Since there will be only a few years where we get to pick what Alex will be this year we chose one of Brandon's favorite characters of all time, Indiana Jones. Brandon's sweet Grandma was kind enough to make the hat, jacket and satchel for the costume. I made the whip and we bought everything else. No detail could be ignored although I did draw the line at drawing on chest hair.

More Cake...

I love this time of year. Not only is the weather beautiful, Halloween is my favorite holiday and it is my birthday. We had a wonderful weekend celebrating. Brandon and I got to see a movie (a rare occurrence these days), I stuffed myself with my favorite food (King Crab), and we got to spend a lot of time with our wonderful family. Brandon also toiled many hours to make me an amazing birthday cake. He is so talented. Keep in mind this is only his third cake with fondant. He is already a pro.

On a related note...after making three cakes in the last week we have a TON of cake at our house. Please come eat some! Also, Brandon is looking for more practice making cakes if anyone is interested.

Carving Pumpkins

It has become a tradition for Brandon and me to carve pumpkins for Halloween. This year we were very busy but we squeezed them in anyway. After each breaking a knife we had to make a run to walmart for another set.

Gizmo (from Gremlins) - This one Brandon did. It was quite complicated but it only took him about twenty minutes to carve it.

Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas - Brandon and I both worked on this one together.

Zero - from The Nightmare Before Christmas - This was all me.
