6 Months

On January 2nd our little bug turned 6 months old.  I can't believe we are half way to a year.  Mia is still a happy, easy baby.  She is still sleeping through the night and still takes three naps a day.  She has started eating rice cereal, oatmeal, and just this week has tried some vegetables.  She now weighs 15.4 pounds (36th percentile) and is 25 inches long (22nd percentile).   She loves to roll all around the living room.  She gets up on her hands and knees but isn't crawling yet.  She is also sitting pretty well.  She loves making noise, especially when it is very quiet in church.  Last week I had to take her out of Relief Society not because she was crying but because she was just squealing so loudly.  She loves Alex and smiles and laughs at him the most.  She doesn't have any teeth yet but the doctor thought she is getting some on the bottom.  We love her so much and are so happy she is part of our family!

The first day we gave her vegetables she was not a fan.  She looked at me like I was crazy.  Luckily she has quickly warmed up to them.

Last week we went sledding before the snow melted too much.  Alex had no fear this year and it was a lot of fun.

I took some video while we were sledding.  This video shows Alex dancing after sledding down the hill, falling over, and then Brandon knocking Alex down.  Poor Alex...

This week both kids have had a bout of the stomach flu.  Alex got it first and then Mia.  It hit Alex especially hard but we are very glad to be on the other side of it now.  The only plus side is that Mia fell asleep in my arms at one point which she never does anymore.  It didn't last very long however.

And That's a Wrap

We finished out the year having a lot of fun.  As usual we took our annual trip to Temple Square to see the lights.  It was cold but fun as usual.  I love wrapping up our Christmas celebration this way.

First we stopped at the Grand America to participate in their window scavenger hunt.

The highlight for Alex is riding trax to the temple.

After stopping for dinner we checked out the candy windows.

Mia stayed snuggled in her stroller.

As we walked we reminisced about Alex's first year seeing the lights.  Alex was a almost two months older than Mia at this point but they definitely look like brother and sister.  It is fun to compare them.  I sure love these sweet babies!

We also gathered together again to have one more "Christmas" dinner and do our ever exciting nativity.

We all dress up and take a part.  It never makes much sense but it is a good reminder of why we celebrate this season.

I was a shepherd and Mia was a wiseman.

Alex was baby Jesus and took the part very seriously.  He laid quietly the whole time.

Grandma and Grandpa as Mary and Joseph.

King Herod and Delilah

Baby Jesus and the "Star"

Brandon couldn't contain his excitement.

The Angels.

And a Yoda sheep.

Another high quality production.

We finally got some real snow and Alex was excited to get out in it.  He was less excited when he realized it is wet and very cold.  It was fun while it lasted.

Hot chocolate is always a must after.

A final look at Alex's Advent Lego's.  Each day he got to take out a piece.  In the end he had quite the collection.

And I can't do a post without a picture of Mia sleeping.

Her waking up faces are my favorite.

2014 was a wonderful year for our family full of blessings.  We are so grateful for all we have and that Mia finally joined our family.  We can't wait for 2015.
