May

May is always crazy and this one was no different.  We had a lot of fun!

Mia had one last dance competition at the beginning of the month.  She performed her solo one last time and once again won her category.  She got to perform with lots of her friends which is always fun.  We are sad to see these dances go but excited to get our weekends back.

Also, at the beginning of the month we had a family birthday party for Alex.  He chose Utah Football for his theme.  Brandon made another amazing cake and it was a lot of fun.

Alex got a 3D printer for his birthday and had a good time setting it up.

On his actual birthday Brandon got up early and got donuts for breakfast.  Our kids were very excited to be awake.

Next we opened presents...

It happened to be Mia's DARE Lagoon day so Brandon was able to take Alex and Mia to Lagoon for the day while I had to go to school.

They had a lot of fun but also each met up with friends for part of the day.  Brandon wasn't too sad to take a break for part of the day.

Mia ended up staying until close with a group of her friends.  She had so much fun!

For his birthday dinner Alex wanted Chinese food and Sushi.

This is a year for birthday parties.  Alex chose to have his at Rush FunPlex.  He invited a lot of friends and they hung out late into the night!

For a few days Mia got very into Hamilton again.  I think she watched it at least ten times.

Alex played Soccer this spring. Brandon was his coach and he had a great season.  He scored lots of goals.

It was also Mother's day this month.  It was a great day and I got very spoiled.

Brandon had to go out of town this month.  While he was gone Mia and Alex had their end of year Piano recitals.  They were super excited.  Just kidding, but they did a great job and both played beautifully!

Afterwards we celebrated by visiting the puppy store and cuddling some puppies.

Then we got some celebratory ice cream.  They gave me some great faces for the picture.

Meanwhile, Brandon was in Chicago for work.  He did get to go to a museum and see some very famous art.

This month Mia already had dance auditions for next year.  She worked really hard leading up to auditions and was excited to make Preteen Company! She can't wait for next year.

Sadly, this month I closed the preschool chapter of my life.  This last year of preschool was a great one.  I had a really smart and well behaved class.  I am going to miss seeing these cute faces come to my house each day!

We had one last field trip to the Fire Station. It was lots of fun!

One final preschool graduation.  At the last minute Brandon had to go to work and wasn't able to help me.  Mia was more than happy to miss school and fill in for him.  It went great and I was so sad to see this school year end!

The biggest highlight of the month was picking out our new dog Ripley! We didn't plan to get a new dog so quickly but Brandon's coworker's brother had some of the breed we wanted available.  We figured it was meant to be.

We had decided we wanted a Cavapoo which is a half Poodle and half Cavalier King.  Earlier in May we went up to Ogden to pick out which one we wanted. Their were two girls to choose from.  A light colored one and a darker colored one.  We had a hard time choosing!

We ended up choosing the lighter colored one.  Her breeder said she was the favorite.  She loved people and other dogs. They were all so cute!

We surprised the kids and went to pick her up on Memorial Day.  We told them we were going to a flower store.  They were not thrilled. Instead we got our new puppy and spent the day getting to know her.  We named her Ripley after the main character in Alien.

The next few days we enjoyed her snuggles and took lots of pictures.  She is very fun.  She is a little shadow and likes to be wherever we are.  Hopefully one day she will learn not to go potty in the house!

We don't finish school until the first week of June but Mia did her end of year French program.  It was very cute!

I had to include a picture of Hayden and Renae.  This last year at Fox Hollow I worked in the Special Ed department.  One of my jobs was working with Hayden who is a new Kindergartner.  He is a very special kid and I absolutely loved working with him. He is hilarious and so much fun! I'm sad I don't get to work with him next year but excited I'll still get to see him around the school.  I also loved working with Renae.  She is one of the nicest people!

Finally, we finished out May with Devyn's fourth birthday party. She is so cute! Mia liked getting a mermaid tattoo.
