Alex's Room

Because Alex came a little later than expected we were able to have his room fully painted and decorated by the time he arrived. Brandon did most of the painting and did a great job. We went a little crazy with the dinosaur theme but it turned out great.

Alex

After 41 weeks of pregnancy Alex is finally here! On Saturday, May 8th Brandon and I went to the hospital so that I could be induced. We got the call at about 6 am. Shortly after our arrival my water was broken and things were underway. However, Alex still took his time and didn't arrive until the next morning, May 9th at 1:37 am. Things couldn't move too quickly because Alex's heartrate kept dropping and I had to be on oxygen most of the day. It turned out that the cord was wrapped around his neck two times. Luckily the delivery went great and Alex was just fine. He weighed in at 7 lb 3 oz and was 21 inches long. The day was extra special because it was mother's day and it also happened to be our three year anniversary. It is definitely a day we won't soon forget. So far Alex has been a perfect baby.

Saying Goodbye

I am extremely blessed and am so grateful that I will have the opportunity to stay home with our new little baby (at least for the next little while). However, I am surprised at how sad I already am to be done teaching. I just have two more weeks to go. I am going to miss my students so much! I will miss watching them learn and grow and laughing at the hilarious things they say. Here is a glimpse into my classroom since most people have never seen it. I didn't include any students for obvious reasons.

Lately...

We've almost made it! Just three weeks to go. Brandon and I have been VERY busy preparing for Tron to arrive. We are in the process of painting his room, buying last minute items, working, and I am finishing up my last two classes while preparing six weeks of sub plans. Here is a small taste of what we have been up to lately.

I got fat...

Valentine's day - Brandon surprised me, doing too much as usual.

Baby Showers! Sadly this was the only picture in focus (thanks Bayley). Don't look too closely at Sadie.

Easter - dying eggs.

Winter Fun

Sadly our winter break had to come to an end and it's now back to work. Working full time, taking two night classes, being the secretary in a new ward's relief society all with a baby on the way has left us more than a little busy. In other words the next post you may see might just be in three months announcing that our baby has been born. Hopefully I will do better than that! Here are some picture highlights of the last few months.

Our first year of Christmas lights. Brandon did a great job.

This is our sad attempt at a Christmas tree. Boo ate several of the lights causing them not to work. Also, notice the placement of the ornaments. They all had to be about half way up the tree so Boo wouldn't eat those too.

Another fun surprise we occasionally come home to.

Past Jessica's bed time!

After Boo plays outside this is how she often returns. Good thing she is cute.

It's a boy!

Today was the day we finally found out what we are having and yep it is a boy. I was shocked because I was positive we were having a girl. I have been referring to the poor thing as a girl for the last four months. Nevertheless we are very excited. On our way home from the doctor we stopped to buy some essential items that Brandon thought our little guy needed.
