Growing Up

Alex has already been with us for over four months now. Although he is still a little small for his age I can't believe how quickly he is growing up. I love spending everyday with him. He is quick to smile and laugh and is a very good baby. Here are some things he likes to do...

Alex is a thumb sucker. Despite many people telling us that if we let him suck his thumb he will still be sucking it in the 7th grade we think it is cute. Not that we could stop him anyway. It is also nice not to have to worry about taking pacifiers with us everywhere we go.

He also likes to watch his Dad play video games (or atleast Brandon thinks he does).
Alex loves to be read to. Luckily, having a teacher for a mom means he has tons of books to hear.

Alex likes to be outdoors. Here he is watching his cousin play soccer.

Alex loves to sleep! He is still taking 4-5 naps a day and sleeping through the night. I am enjoying every second of it. (Except for a few days this week where he decided he needed to eat at three in the morning.)

Watching tv with his daddy. They are probably watching Phineas and Ferb.

Alex has a great talent for eating his foot. Luckily he had just had a bath in this picture.

This past week we decided to try feeding Alex some rice cereal. He seemed to like it alright. He would even grab the spoon out of my hand and hold it in his mouth.

With every bite at least half of it seeped right back out of his mouth.

Brandon also did some growing up this past month. He turned 26. Alex and I are so grateful for Brandon and all that he does for us. I am so lucky to be a stay at home mom and Brandon makes that possible.

An Awesome Shirt

Thanks to his Aunt Marlene and his cousin Mikah, Alex has this awesome shirt. He wears it proudly.

Swimming Take Two

Now that Alex is a little older we decided to attempt swimming again. Here he is all dressed up and excited to get swimming. The hat may be a little big.

The pre-swimming ritual.

This time Alex didn't cry in the water but he wasn't super thrilled about it either.

Alex's Blessing

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to bless Alex. It was a lot of fun celebrating with family and friends.
Alex in his blessing outfit. He looks like he is ready for a game of tennis at the country club.

He was so patient while we took a million pictures.
By the end of the day Alex was so tired. The next two days he slept almost all day to recover.

Thanks to a lot of help from family we had a yummy and fun lunch after the blessing. Our little house has never been so full.

4th of July Weekend

This weekend was Alex's first big holiday. It was very busy celebrating both Grandma and Grandpa's birthday and the birth of our nation. He even got to try out swimming for the first time.

Here he is decked out in his independence day gear. Brandon was not thrilled about it.

We spent about 20 minutes getting Alex ready to go swimming. This included putting a much too big swim diaper over his regular diaper and lathering his entire body in a thick layer of sun block. This was all for about 90 seconds of swimming.

His first moments in the pool...not sure what to think.

Deciding it is cold and not too fun...

...and he is done.

Recovering from the swimming torture with Grandpa.

Alex's first fireworks. He was mildly impressed.

So tired by the end of the night.

Enjoying some time with his cousin Mikah.

Photo Shoot

Last week my very kind sister in law, Mindi came over and took some pictures of Alex. They turned out so cute even though he wasn't happy for very long. Here are a few of my favorites.

6 Weeks Old

It is hard to believe but Alex is already 6 weeks old today. I can't believe how much he has grown already. He is such a good baby and has made life pretty easy. Here are some highlights from the last six weeks.

His first bath...

His long hair...

He smiles so much! I have tried to capture these smiles in a picture but usually miss it. This was the best I could do.

Hanging out with relatives...
