March was a crazy fast month that was packed full of fun.
Alex thought it was a good idea to climb the tree at Grandma and Grandpa Clements' house and also to climb on the house. Luckily nothing was broken in the process.
We got to go see Elsie perform her dances at the beginning of the month. They were so good!
It was a big month for Mia. She started out the month by getting an expander on her top and bottom teeth as well as brackets for future braces. Relearning to eat was a bit of a process but she is doing great with them now!
Mia also got to go on yet another field trip this month. This time it was to a Stars basketball game. She had a ton of fun and another nice mom sent me a pic.
Also this month her dance team got to perform at a drill teams showcase. Her friends were excited to see her new braces when we got there.
She performed beautifully!
Our sweet Boo is showing her age more and more every day. We know our time with her is limited so we are soaking in each day.
She is doing some crazy things like getting stuck in little nooks and crannies.
She also is a very messy eater these days!
March was filled with tons of dance. First up was Hollywood Dance Jamz at the Layton Convention Center.
Mia trying on a tshirt she wanted to get so she had to take a creepy picture.
The girls had a good time entertaining themselves during a long break.
It was a fun weekend!
Alex decided to do track with the highschool this spring. I made him get his pictures taken to document. So far he is having a great time.
Brandon was able to make it to his first track meet. It was a very cold and windy day. Alex has been running the 100m, the 200m and doing the long jump.
I was a lucky seat winner and got to go see Les Miserable this month. It was very good and a fun little night out with myself.
We have been wanting to go to a gymnastics meet for a few years and finally made it happen this year. A bonus was Utah was against UCLA which meant we got to see Jordan Chiles compete. It was very cool and even better that Utah won!
Once again Mia used the strategy of making a very cool house for the Leprechaun the night before St. Patrick's day in hopes he will be enticed to stay. Sadly once again it didn't work but he did leave some treats!
Also, our cute friend Laurie brought us some green bread and rainbow jello for the day. It was so delicious and fun!
Another weekend meant more dance for Mia. This time it was the Gotta Move solo competition.
Waiting to go on....
Mia had lots of family come support her. It made it fun to have a crowd cheer for her.
She did so well. She got first in her category and got an award for Best Showmanship, Best choreography and Best musicality. Because she did so well we got to come back for the final awards ceremony that wasn't until 10:30 at night.
Killing some time in between awards.
It was worth staying up late. She ended up getting 4th overall. She was grouped with Juniors, Teens and Seniors so this was very awesome!
Our next dance adventure took us to California. Mia got to attend one competition out of state this year and we were thrilled when we heard it was in Anaheim. We got up early on Thursday morning and drove to California. Brandon drove and we slept.
We made great time and actually got to California pretty early in the day. After checking into our hotel we walked down to Downtown Disney to shop and explore.
The next day we discovered that next door to our hotel they were holding WonderCon. We had a great view every day of all the amazing costumes of people attending. Also, many of the people were staying at our hotel. It was a lot of fun to go down the elevator with a random zombie or see Spiderman just eating his breakfast.
Mia was determined to go swimming even thought it was pretty cold while we were in California. Even though the pool was heated she didn't last very long.
Alex and Brandon were nice enough to join her and we got the pool to ourselves for a bit.
The first day of the competition Mia got to perform her solo. This is a much more competitive competition than most of the ones she attends so we were anxious to see how she would do.
We also got some amazing pictures!
Killing some more time waiting for awards.
She was so excited to get a Platinum score and third in her category. This was so great for this competition so we were very excited!
The next day started off her convention classes. Mia loves these classes!
The only dance they were performing at this competition was her hip hop dance. They did great!
Brandon and Alex wanted to spend a day at Six Flags since Alex had never been. They rode all the big, crazy rides. Brandon found he isn't as young as he once was and spent the day dizzy.
Eventually the rides caught up with Alex as well but overall they had a lot of fun!
The last day of the convention Mia had a few more classes.
After her last class we changed hotel rooms so that we could be closer to Disneyland. After settling in we headed back to Downtown Disney to eat at Black Tap Diner.
The next morning the kids were thrilled to get up early to rope drop!
They were happy when we made it to Rise of the Resistance without any wait however.
We decided to check off something on our bucket list this trip and eat at the Blue Bayou at a table right off the water. We made our reservation 60 days before and let them know when we checked in. We ended up only waiting for about 10 minutes for the table. It was so fun and something we will always remember!
While Alex and Brandon did a little shopping in Star Wars land we met up with one of Mia's dance friends to go on a ride. They loved it!
After that we headed over to California Adventure. Mia was very excited to get back on the Incredicoaster.
Unfortunately the Incredicoaster did not agree with Brandon so while he took a break we went on Toy Story Mania.
We ended the night back at Disney for a few more rides and an Alien Macaron. It was an amazing day and a great end to the month!
Photo Pass pictures from the day....
We got to finally ride Tiana's Bayou Adventure. It made me miss Splash mountain which of course was way better. I made everyone do an angry pose for our picture in protest.
