February

February was a great month! It went so fast and we had a lot of fun.

We started off the month with a bang and got to clean the church.  I had to document that Mia can clean.

The kids had a few days off school in February so we spent one morning at our new favorite place, Classic Skating.  Our kids can't get enough.

We had a great time celebrating Valentine's day this year.  Mia took little boxes of cereal for her class.

Brandon made another amazing card.

Mia got to make her Valentine's box this year.  She wanted to make a Lucky Charms box and drew the entire picture by herself and then colored it all.  It turned out so cute.  She also took great care in choosing her outfit and accessories for the big day.

Ready for dance on Valentine's Day.

We kept the tradition of the heart shaped pizza alive.

We also had Young Women's that night.  The girls made valentines but also were swooning over cute boys online.

Brandon also made delicious chocolate covered strawberries as well.  It was a great day!

We also enjoyed watching the Super Bowl together.  We made a lot of delicious food and because of Taylor Swift Mia was even pretty into it.

Boo knows how to relax!

Just a few weeks before, Brandon and I were invited on an impromptu trip to Disneyland to celebrate our friend Lauries upcoming birthday.  We couldn't resist another Disney trip and it happened to be on one of the only open weekends we had coming up until May.  So we took that as a sign that we should go.  We are so glad we did.  It was so much fun. It wasn't overly crowded, the weather was beautiful and we ate our weight in treats.

We originally thought Brandon would be done with his boot before the trip but an MRI showed he still had a few healing bones so he has to stay in his boot until at least mid march.  So he had to bring along his scooter.  I don't think either of us realized how hard this would be.  His leg got very sore after scooting on it for three days.  Having the scooter made a few rides a shorter wait but many rides actually took longer to load after waiting in an accessible line.  Many times he just ditched the scooter while we were in line.

We ate so many treats this trip and so much good food!

Laurie didn't know we were coming and it was so fun to surprise her!

We never noticed how bumpy and uneven many of the walkways are at Disneyland.  This made some areas very hard to scoot on for Brandon.

The extra basket was nice though!

At the end of the day we crashed.  We didn't even make it to closing time.  We have done Disney so many times but this time made us feel so tired.  I'm not sure if we just moved faster without the kids or if the scooting made things harder but we were both so tired at the end of each night we could barely get ready for bed.

We had beautiful weather.  I like that I am dressed for winter and Brandon is dressed for summer.

Not planned Disney matching!

To save some money on our flight we opted for a very early flight.  It left at 6:00 am California time.  We had to set our alarms for 3:00 am.  We slept through the flight and made it home by 10:00 am which was pretty awesome though.  We did crash for a while once we were home though.

Brandon got a souvenir and found a place of honor for it.  It didn't last long.

It took us a few days to recover but the trip was so worth it.

Mia got to perform and compete her solo again this month.  She did such a good job.  She wanted me to stay back stage with her so I got a few pictures from the side.

We found some Synergy friends competing as well.

At the end of the month we finally made it skiing.  It has been a little more difficult this year since Brandon cannot snowboard because of his broken foot.  So I took up Alex and his friend Jhett and Mia and we spent a beautiful Wednesday up at Brighton.

I snuck a few pictures of Mia while she took a class.  She wasn't thrilled to take a lesson but it helped and she was doing so well by the end.  I can't keep up with her anymore.

I didn't see Alex and Jhett most of the day.  They went off by themselves and had a lot of fun.  It was fun to get to ski with just Mia.

We can't wait to do it again soon!

January

January was a fun, slow month at our house which was nice after the crazy holiday.

On New Years Day we went out to breakfast with the Clements family.  It is hard to get a decent photo of all of the grandkids but it was a lot of fun.

Mia wanted to paint on her white shoes she used for the Disney parade since she probably wouldn't wear them otherwise.  They turned out so cute!

Mia is always creating something amazing. She made a few of these cool dragons this month.

Another fun Activity days activity.

Mia got to go to a dance friends birthday part this month.  She had so much fun!

Dressing up Pengui.

Alex got to do ski blitz this month.  Luckily one of his friends took pictures and sent them to me.

We also attended Brandon's family holiday party at the beginning of the month.  We ate delicious BBQ and got to win some prizes.  The kids thought it was so fun and always love being with their cousins.

Once again Alex has been plagued with in grown toe nails so we went back to the podiatrist this month.  Hopefully they don't return this time!

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day the kids wanted to spend their day off at a trampoline park. It was crazy busy but lots of fun.

We also got to attend Jaryn's birthday party this month as well.

Boo finally got another haircut this month.  She has also been to the vet a few times to try and figure out some of her issues.  She looks so much better! Now we just need to get her feeling better.

I got to go with some Young Women early one Saturday morning this month.  They are such cute girls and it was awesome to be in the temple with them.

At the end of the month Mia got to perform her solo at Synergy's solo night.  She has been dreaming about doing a Wednesday solo for a long time so it was so fun to finally see her perform it.  She did so amazing and has grown so much as a dancer.  I love seeing her hard work pay off. She was very nervous to perform but once she did she was so excited!

I can never get good pictures of her on stage.

I was so impressed she landed her aerial.  She hasn't been able to do one for very long and we weren't sure how it was going to go in the dance but she did awesome.

They gave out a few awards and Mia won for best Costume.

At the end of the month Alex got to attend his first Stake dance.  I really wish I could have been a fly on the wall for this but I was impressed they did get one picture.  Too bad he isn't really in it.  Even though his friends had to convince him to go in the first place I think he had fun!
