Just a few pictures from the big day...

We were especially excited for Christmas this year knowing it was Alex's first one. Luckily he was a good boy and Santa stopped by to drop off some presents.

I was lucky to get as many pictures of Alex as I did. He spent most of the day sleeping. Apparently the excitement was just too much for him.

Boo was also tuckered out from all the excitement.
...and so was Jessica

It was a wonderful Christmas. We are lucky to have such wonderful families!

Deck the Halls

Another excuse to use my camera, I decided to take some pictures of our home all decked out for Christmas. When Brandon and I unpacked our Christmas decorations this year we realized how sad our collection was, especially compared to our Halloween decorations. We bought a few more this year and got some as gifts which helped.

Temple Lights

Another Christmas season means another trip to see the Lights at Temple Square for the Hettinger Family. This year we decided to go on a Sunday night two weeks before Christmas which may have been a mistake. It was especially busy this year but the weather was beautiful and so were the lights. Our family is getting bigger each year and it is getting harder and harder to not get seperated. We were excited to see Alex's reaction to the lights. He reacted much like he does in many situations, with indifference, but as long as we kept moving he was happy.

Alex was happy to be back in the car with his hat off.

Boo in the Snow

Can you spot the dog? Being high maintenance, usually Boo tries to avoid the snow at all cost. After one of our bigger snow storms however, she couldn't resist the urge to chase some pesky birds that had landed in our backyard...until she got stuck in the snow and had to very slowly make her way back to the house.

Bath Time

You may have noticed that these days I am looking for just about anything to take pictures of. That's because Brandon and his family were kind enough to get me a wonderful new camera for my birthday. Here is Alex after a bath. Plus he is too cute not to take pictures of.

Thanksgiving

I'm a little slow but here are just a few shots from Thanksgiving. (I forgot to get my camera out until the end of the meal and Alex had already gone to sleep). We were very sad not to have Brandon with us but he gets Christmas off so I am excited about the trade off. Overall it was a great day of playing games and eating yummy food.

Poor Alex...

Poor Alex had to endure yet another photo shoot yesterday. I guess that's what you get for being so cute. My kind sister in law Mindi, was kind enough to take some more photos for me and I also wanted to get some practice in of my own. These first two shots were mine...

By the way, he gets those beautiful eyes from his Daddy.

As I'm sure you can tell from the more professional look, these shots were by Mindi. You can see more of the shots she took of Alex here. She is an awesome photographer.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

As is tradition in Brandon's family we started off the Christmas season by getting our pictures with Santa taken. We were really excited this year to see what Alex's reaction would be. I didn't think he would cry like many babies do meeting the big guy for the first time since Alex is generally very easy going. As we thought, he didn't cry, but just looked at Santa like he was the weirdest thing he has ever seen.

We never could get a smile out of him though...

The whole family, getting bigger every year.
