August

August was a hot, fun month.  Here are some highlights.

One day I got to help out at Alex's cub Scout activity.  It was fun!

Mia is often doing something artistic.  This month she got into making clothes for her dolls.

She also did my make up with her princess make up one day.  She begged me to leave it on until after lunch which was fine until I forgot about it and answered the door looking like this.  It gave my friend a good laugh.

We finally did an outdoor movie.  We watched Ugly Dolls.  The movie was okay but it was a lot of fun.

One Sunday at Grandma's house the kids had a big water fight.  It got a little crazy!

Mia loves to throw tea parties for her dolls.

At the beginning of the month Mia started Kindergarten.  She has loved it and has done really well. I was surprised that she wasn't nervous or shy at all.

We also spent one Saturday at Bear Lake this summer.  This was a first for my kids.  We hung out on the beach, played with cousins, and even had a BBQ.  We drove there and back in one day but it was a lot of fun and our kids loved it!

We even stopped for shakes before heading home. It was a great day!

A while ago Alex earned his Wolf award for Cub Scouts and finally got it this month.  He was so excited and will be very sad when Scouts ends.  He loves earning all the awards.

My family spent a night at a Bee's game this year and it happened to be princess night.  This worked out great for all the little girls that love princesses.  We waited in long lines to get our picture taken with all them.

We watched a little baseball too.

Some of my sisters and I spent a weekend in Park City shopping, eating and touring the Parade of Homes.  It was a lot of fun.  This meant Brandon got to brave a weekend by himself with the kids.  This was actually his first time doing so.  They all survived so I guess I need to take more girls trips.

We saw lots of big houses with awesome views.

Brandon took them to see the Dora the Explorer movie.

The next week we all went back up to Park City and spent most of the week there.  This time we did tons of swimming, went to the Park City Resort and Olympic Park and had lots of fun! Our kids look forward to this trip all year.

At the end of the month we got to celebrate Brandon's birthday.  He had to get up early and coach a soccer game but we had a fun day.

We finally made it out to Shake Shack.  We had been before a few times in other states and it was delicious again.  We also went to a couple of movies while the kids had a sleepover at Stephanie's house.  It was a fun day!
