April

April was a busy month and we still dealt with some snow.  We still had lots of fun though.

We started out the month with general conference.  We had some delicious crepes that Mia especially enjoyed.

Brandon took advantage of a rare moment of cuddly Mia.

We had yet another big snow storm at the beginning of the month and had another school snow day.  The kids weren't too sad and enjoyed playing in the backyard. We were supposed to be starting baseball and soccer games this week.

Luckily the snow storm came one day before Mia's school field trip and didn't ruin it.  I didn't get to go this year but her friends mom still sent me a picture.  They went to the Natural History Museum.

Alex has had a very successful first year of middle school.  He has gotten excellent grades and has even been awarded a few other school awards.  He was the Falcon of the Day one day and also was the student of the quarter for his "pod."  We are very proud of him!

Mia loves clothes and showing off her outfits.  She was very excited about her new shirt.  Alex wanted to help her model.

Boo is getting older and slower but she still lives her best life.  We love her!

Mia was excited to be the one to destroy my latest completed puzzle.  We thought it was pretty funny that she could pick up the whole thing in one piece.

Alex got to go to his friend Asher's birthday party this month.  They got to ride in a limo to the theater to see a movie and then to chick-fil-a.  It was quite the party!

Mia loves kisses from Gus!

We got to attend all the fun Easter activities this month.  This year our ward Easter egg hunt was inside because of the lingering snow but I think it was more fun this way.  They hid eggs in lots of classrooms so the kids had a fun time finding them all.  Plus they had so many eggs, they were very excited!

Next we headed to Grandma Hettinger's house for another Easter Egg Hunt and to decorate Easter Eggs.  It was a lot of fun as always!

The next day we were excited to see the Easter Bunny had made a stop at our house.  The kids found lots of eggs around the house and their Easter basket full of treats.

The Easter bunny even brought Alex and Mia some new soft blankets.  They were very excited!

We had a delicious breakfast made by Brandon.

Finally it was time for church.  They are looking so grown up this year!

Last but not least we headed to Grandma Clements' house for another egg hunt and a delicious Easter dinner.  The kids are always hunting for the eggs worth the most money.

We of course had more dance in April.  We had one team and solo competition and another solo competition.  Mia did amazing at both of them!

The first day was a team competition and the next day was solos.

It was just me and her at this competition and she didn't want me to leave back stage.  It was fun to watch her from there though.

Mia really wanted to place in the top ten in one of her solo competitions.  I wasn't sure if she would be able to do that at this competition because it was a tough competition and she was competing against all the girls on her team. She did amazing though! She got first in her category and 10th over all.  She was so excited!

A few weeks later she performed her solo again.  This time she got to compete with Elsie and Lilah which made it way more fun.  She also had lots of family come and support her so she got lots of cheers.  She got a Platinum score and was very excited to get another dance trophy.  At the beginning of the year she just wanted a dance trophy so I'm glad she reached that goal.

Haiden choreographed her dance and worked with her all year on it. She was awesome. Mia improved so much over this year and we loved this dance!
