July

July was such a fun, crazy month.  As usual, with year round school we had to pack a summer full of fun into three short weeks.

Here are the highlights ...

We spent a good chunk of the month watching Stranger Things with Alex.  He started the show and watched all three seasons.

Boo thinks she is a throw pillow.

Mia likes to pile up every doll she owes every night while she is in bed.  There is barely room left for her.

At the beginning of the month we celebrated Mia's birthday.  Alex still had school that day so we had to wake her up early to open her presents.  She was very excited.

One of her favorite presents was this awesome unicorn robe.

Mia chose to go to In & Out for lunch.

In the afternoon we went up to Cherry Hill for the first time with our friends. Our kids loved it and have been begging to go back.

And finally to finish off the night we stopped at Yogurtland for dessert.  It was a great birthday!

On the 4th of July we had our annual pancake breakfast in our front yard with our neighbors.  It was a lot of fun as usual!

For the rest of day we played games and ate yummy food with my family.  At night we went to the fireworks but Mia wasn't feeling well so we skipped them and she fell asleep in the car.

The next Saturday we had Mia's family birthday party.  She wanted a unicorn theme.  We loved celebrating her and she loved being the center of attention.

Brandon made an amazing unicorn cake!

Mia got to try out her new bike.

This month Alex took a few golf lessons.  He had a lot of fun.

While he was at golf Mia heard the ice cream truck go by and she and Brandon were quick enough to catch it. They even picked one for Alex.

One day this month we went to the Bluffdale splash pad with some neighbors. It was hot but a lot of fun!

We had to stop for ice cream on the way home.

Also, this month some of my sisters and I went to see Hugh Jackman in concert.  It was a lot of fun and he put on a great show.

Two days this month Alex got to go to cub scout camp.  Brandon was kind enough to go with him.  Alex loves cub scouts so he was in heaven the whole time.

We even made smore's in the backyard a few times.

Another fun outing with our neighbors was to the bowling alley.  They kids loved it.  It only took us like two hours to finish one game.

One day Brandon took the day off and took the kids to Nickle Mania.  They loved it!

Another July means another Cul-de-sac of Fire hosted by the Everitts.  Delicious food, games and fireworks made for another fun night!

We also had just enough time to squeeze in some swimming lessons this month.  Alex had to miss the second day of school for his last lesson but he was okay with that.

Alex is getting really good.  He is even learning the butterfly stroke.

The day before Pioneer day we checked out the floats.

We also did some back to school shopping at Scheels.  We had to ride the Ferris Wheel of course.

This month Grandpa Clements celebrated his 60th birthday.  He had a party at the park.  The kids thought it was pretty great.

They even shot off the Candy Cannon.  It was a blast!

And just like that our "summer" was over and Alex had to head back to school.  I can't believe he is in fourth grade.

The last weekend of the month we went camping with the Peterson's.  Our kids love camping and were so excited.  Unfortunately it rained a just enough to make everything muddy but not enough to ruin all the fun.

Alex in his element.

At the very end of the month Mia went to Kindergarten testing.  She is so excited to start school!
