May

May is the craziest month of the year for us and this year was no exception.  But we survived!  We started off the month by celebrating Alex's birthday a little early with family.  This year he wanted a Five Nights at Freddy's cake and Brandon delivered.  It turned out so great!

My kids love carpet samples.  These weirdos entertained themselves for quite awhile while Brandon got some things at Lowes.

We spent a day up in Logan celebrating Kenzie's baptism.  I didn't take many pictures but we attended the baptism, Max's soccer game and ate some delicious BBQ.  Our kids love being with their cousins!

Brandon did some fun science experiments with his Activity days group.  They thought it was pretty cool.

Mia got to finally give her first talk in primary this month.  She did awesome!

Unfortunately Alex got very sick one weekend this month.  He was sicker than I've ever seen him.  He had some sort of stomach bug.  We aren't sure if it was food poisoning or not.  He could not get out of bed for a day and a half.  He had really bad timing too because he had to miss a baseball game, his last soccer game, a piano recital, all-star tryouts and a team party.

I had a great mother's day.  I'm so lucky to be the mom of these two crazy kiddos!

These mother's day notes sum up my children perfectly.  Mia drew me a beautiful picture and a very sweet note.  Alex thought his note was hilarious.

For the first time in his life Alex had to go to school on his birthday. We got up early so he could open his presents.

Mia finally had her last competition of the year this month.  This time it was in a gym which was a little different for us.  Her team performed great as always! She will miss this team!

We stopped to eat after the competition.  Alex actually volunteered to come to this competition even though it meant a long day watching dance down in Spanish Fork.

Mia did get to go to her piano recital even though Alex was sick.  She played "Do You Want to Build a Snowman," and played it beautifully.  We are so proud of her.

The end of the school year meant lots of school performances.  Alex's class performed a play in French that they wrote with their teacher's help.  It included dances and songs.  It was very impressive even though we couldn't really understand what they were saying.

A few days later all the French classes performed some songs in French.  They also did some dancing.  It was a lot of fun to watch.

Mia got to introduce her song for her grade in French.  She did a great job!

Later that night there was also an art show at the school.  Mia could not miss it so we rushed there after a softball game.  We got to see some of her cute art projects.

Mia always comes very prepared for Alex's baseball games.

On Memorial Day this year we got to go to the Bees game with the Petersons.  It was a little cold but a ton of fun!

Early in the game Brandon scrambled after a foul ball and gave it to Mia.  She was very excited and later had Bumble, the Bees mascot sign it for her.

The night ended with fireworks.  It was a great way to kick off the summer!
