Our House...Again

It's hard to believe but our house is down to the final weeks.  We are scheduled to close on March 29th.  The house should be finished up in the next few weeks and then we will begin the walk-throughs and inspections.

Here are a few shots from my phone from the last few weeks.

February Catch Up

It's hard to believe that another month has come and gone in 2013.  We had a lot of fun as you can see by all the pictures I took.

As usual Brandon was working on Valentine's day so I got spend the day with my little buddy.  We had a very crazy, fun day with lots of visitors and surprises.

We started off the morning with some red eggs that Alex helped make.

Even though he was a little suspicious at first he ended up eating his whole plate.

Alex got a package from Grandma and Grandpa Hettinger.  Here he is opening it.  It doesn't take much to make him very happy.

I also received these beauties from Brandon.  Tulips are my favorite and this bouquet was especially pretty.
Brandon got a surprise as well.

Alex and I made some sugar cookies.

And from us Alex got the movie Ice Age.

After reaching his sugar high Alex came crashing down at about 5 pm.  He fell asleep while sitting next to me on the couch.  This rarely happens so he must have been very tired after such an exciting day.

Brandon and I celebrated Valentines day the next day.  He surprised me with a night at the Little America.  It was so much fun.  We also shopped, saw a movie, and ate delicious dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

In other news Alex is potty trained!  I had thought that Alex was ready to train for a while now.  He was often asking us to go to the bathroom and was doing great at using the toilet.  I hesitated training him while we are living with my sisters because I knew there would be some accidents.  They were kind enough to give us the go ahead anyway.  I worried that if we waited to until we moved that transition would be hard enough without adding potty training to it.  The first day was rough!  Alex was not into it.  Even though he had only a few accidents he didn't seem aware of when he needed to go and he kept asking to put his diaper back on.

I was so close to giving up, thinking he wasn't really ready but I decided to try at least one more day.  Day 2 was so much better.  He only had one accident and by the end of the day was telling me when he had to go. Each time he used the potty he got a piece of candy that he had picked out at the store.  He also got to put a sticker on his chart.  He knew that when that was full he got a new toy.  Once he caught on to this routine it worked really well and was very motivating.

From there he got better and better.  On Sunday I was nervous about taking him to church in underwear but didn't want to go backwards and put him in a diaper.  So we braved it and he was perfect.  He didn't have any accidents.  I just checked on him every half hour in nursery and took him to the bathroom when he needed to go.  I have been so proud at how well he has done.  He still sleeps in a diaper and has still had a few spontaneous accidents throughout the week but they have been few and far between.

This is what he did when I asked to see his underwear.

After four days he filled up his sticker chart and earned his Iron Man mask.  This was the toy that he picked out at the store.

Also this month we celebrated Elsie's first birthday.  I cannot believe she is already one.

The birthday girl!

 Excited cousins.

Bows are better than toys.

Eating cake.

Brandon and I also took Alex to the aquarium this month.

After spending a day with Wilson and getting to take him to school Alex has started to ask me to go to school.  One day he even insisted on putting on his backpack as we headed out to the store.

Fun at In & Out.

I thought this moment needed to be photographed.  This month Alex has gotten more and more into playing with this "Star Wars guys."  So Brandon decided it was time to sit him down and watch the movie.  Alex was fascinated.

I am very blessed to get to spend my days with these two boys.  I am so grateful for them!
