The Fair

On Wednesday we took Alex to the State Fair. It is so fun to see everything through his eyes. He loved the animals and is not afraid to walk right up and touch them.

Petting the goats.

Don't worry, Brandon made sure we all put on hand sanitizer after leaving each barn.

My favorite were the bunnies of course.

The Sea Lion Show.

Sick Boy

Alex has had somewhat of a rough week. On Monday Brandon and I took Alex with us to run a few errands. We were having a great time pushing Alex around in his stroller while browsing at Hobby Lobby. Suddenly, Alex started to gag and the next thing we know he is throwing up all of himself and the stroller. I bent down to help him and saw what the problem was. He had the strap from his stroller deep in his throat and had gagged himself. We spent the next half an hour cleaning him and his stroller in the bathroom. Of course this was the one time I hadn't packed any extra clothes so we had to take Alex out to the car in just a diaper. We had planned to go other places but this was the end of our shopping trip.

Alex has also been teething for what seems like a few weeks now. Most of the time he is fine but sometimes he acts like they are really hurting him. This week he seemed to reach the peak of his pain. On Tuesday he had a temperature of 102 for the first half of the day. This made him very lethargic and sleepy. I was very sad he was sick but secretly loved the extra cuddle time.

He even laid on the couch most of the morning and watched cartoons. For a boy who never holds still this was pretty amazing.

Half asleep...

Luckily, this only lasted half the day and by the afternoon he was back to his old self.

A Trip to Logan

Brandon, Alex and I were excited to finally make a trip up to Logan to visit Nikole and Jordan at USU. Crazy enough this was Brandon's first trip to Logan and Nikole and Jordan showed us a great time. We got go bowling and play games at Jordan's work, we ate at the Firehouse Pizzeria (which we highly recommend), we stayed up way too late playing games, and we even snuck in a little shopping. We had so much fun and can't wait to do it again. (That was me inviting myself back up).

Alex loved bowling. He wanted to take everyone's turns for them.

Playing in the jungle gym.

The End is Near...

Sadly the end of summer is near. So, Alex and I were excited to take advantage of at least one more day at the park before the weather starts to turn. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun picnicking and playing with Wilson and Sadie.

The sand box was a big hit.

Tired and ready to go home!

This Kid

He is cute, entertaining, and just a little bit crazy. We sure love him!

Watching TV.
We found him sleeping one morning like this. One foot up in the air. Weird.

This happened today. I watched as Alex dove head first from the couch into the box of blankets. I might be the worst mom ever because as he cried I grabbed the camera for a quick picture before rescuing him.

We are so proud of our growing boy!

Utah Man Sir

Brandon and I were lucky enough to go to the first football game of the year. (And the first football game for the Utes as a member of the PAC12). Thanks Angie and Scott! Also, pass along the thanks to your bishop for giving you the calling that caused you to miss the game. We appreciate it! We had a lot of fun and got to see one good half of football. We will pretend like we left early and didn't have to watch that second half. But a win is a win. I was excited to get a chance to dust off one of my old muss shirts and Brandon wore a salmon colored Star Wars shirt because that is the closest thing he had to red. For shame.

Enjoy the iPhone photos in all their glory.

Water Baby

There is not much this kid is afraid of and water is definitely not one of them. He gets that from his Daddy. I am afraid of many things. Although his Daddy is afraid of bugs. During the week long Brandon Birthday celebration we took Alex swimming at the Kearns swimming pool. It was a lot of fun. Alex had a grand time going down slides and jumping off the side and into the pool.

One Year Older and Wiser Too!

It was Brandon's birthday this week and we spent almost a whole week celebrating. To kick it off Sarah and Jen were kind enough to host his party with my family at their house. We barbecued, ate, played games and ate some more.

We also spent Sunday with Brandon's family but sadly I forgot my camera. We had a delicious dinner and spent some time outside while Alex and Mikah wore us all out. On the 31st, his actual birthday, we had a fun day with just our little family. We went to see Captain America and ate dinner at Good Wood Barbecue.

Alex and I are so lucky to have Brandon in our family. He is an amazing Dad and husband. Happy Birthday!
