September had its ups and downs but we had a lot of fun too!
For the first week of the month we got to have Indy stay at our house. He is too cute not to take lots of pictures of. We were surprised at how well he and Boo got along. Indy also insisted on sleepig with us so our bed was very crowded. One day Mia wanted to take a bath and Indy wanted to join her! It was so fun to have him.
Mia is very into creating outfits and "looks" for school. She thinks about everything from the hair to the shoes. Sometimes we disagree but she always has the confidence to pull it off.
On another day Brandon got out the whipped cream and things went from crazy to worse!
Mia and her friend Acelynn wanted to go to their school's out door movie night so I took them. This was one of the only times I saw them. They ran around with friends the whole time.
We had a little bit of rain this month. We loved these rainbows after.
We haven't gotten the pictures back yet but Mia had dance pictures this month. She has become more and more opinionated about her hair and what she wears. She always looks cute!
Mia had her yearly doctor's check up this month. She had to get two shots so Chick-fil-a was her choice for lunch. She is so fun to spend time with!
Boo's favorite past time is to sleep. It is always fun to see where she ends up.
Another September means another trip to the State Fair. We had so much fun this year. The kids both rode tons of rides. Mia rode lots of the "big kid" rides this time. We had beautiful weather, ate some delicious food, watched a gun show and even saw a magician. What more could you ask for in one day!
Mia wasn't quite tall enough to go on these swings. I was shocked she even wanted to because they were very high in the air. We were able to sneak her on and she loved it!
I love the progression of these photos. These two are so crazy together. They started out smiling like weird0s. I got one good picture and then things got weirder from there. I'm so glad they get along and entertain each other even when they are driving us crazy!
Mia was loving the bigger rides until the last ride of the night. It spun around very fast and the cars lifted slightly off the ground. It went forwards and backwards. She was terrified and vowed never to go on it again! Her faces were pretty funny though. It was a successful year at the fair!
In late August we discovered that one of our basement closets had flooded with water. It was in my preschool room. It ruined a few things but nothing we were too worried about. We promptly got a plumber out to tell us what was wrong, however, the plumber we called wasn't sure what the problem was. He didn't think it was our water line because when he turned the water off it didn't appear to be running still. He suggested we get some landscapers out to look at our sprinklers instead.
We had a few landscapers come out. They each had their own ideas about what was causing the problem but also didn't think it was the water line. They also gave us bids to fix what they guessed was the problem that totaled up to 8,000. Finally we asked our neighbors on Facebook and they immediately knew what the problem was because many had experienced the same thing. It was indeed a very small hole in our water line. After some more bids and estimates we were finally able to find a plumber that would fix it for a reasonable price, especially if we dug the hole ourselves.
Brandon and I spent a weekend digging the hole. Once the pipe was exposed we could see that it was leaking. We had to keep our water off for the weekend until the plumber could come out on Monday. We wished we had reached out to our neighbors sooner. They were so kind and offered us lots of help. We are so glad to have the problem fixed. Now we just need to finish up repairing the damage. We are tired of floods at our house!
I made Brandon take a picture of our yard before we dug it up. We had to get rid of the rose bush and iris in the way.
The weekend Alex has been waiting for finally arrived. Alex has been preparing to go hunting all year long and the last weekend of September it was finally time. Now that Alex is 12 he is old enough to hunt. In January he completed Hunter Safety which was a pretty intense process. Brandon was not looking forward to this weekend but was kind enough to go along with Alex. Trevor, Alex, Brandon and Max went up and made camp on a Thursday night in the dark. Early Friday morning Alex found and shot a deer (with lots of help from Uncle Trevor). The hunting trip lasted a lot shorter then they were planning on but Alex was pretty excited to get a deer on his first shot. Brandon said it was a pretty far shot and they were all a little surprised Alex was able to make it.
