October is my favorite month and this October seemed especially fun. We have so many traditions we pack into the month. The weather was great this year which made it even better.
At the beginning of the month we took a trip to Gardner Village to check out the Witches and pick out a new Halloween decoration. I love that Alex stops at various spots along the way and asks me to take his picture.
Last year he wouldn't get even close to this witch. What a difference a year makes!
During Green Ribbon week at school they had a pajama day. Alex was very excited to wear his astronaut pajamas.
Another day was crazy hair day. Alex was disappointed that he didn't have enough hair to make it crazy so we went with a crazy color instead.
It's never too late to get a treat from the ice cream man. We happened upon him while walking a friend home and Alex was super excited to get a treat.
Early in the month we checked out a new park not too far from our house. It was a very cool park but a little big for Mia. She kept walking around saying, "That's too dangerous."
Taking care of baby Jack. She often says, "Don't cry Jack. It's okay."
Getting to Cornbelly's was high on our priorities list this month. Our kids love it and this year was just as great as ever. It was fun that Mia can do so much more instead of just hang out in the stroller.
Gotta love this kid's expressions.
Getting lost in the corn maze.
Alex made it all the way to the top of the rock climb which was a vast improvement over last year. Then he looked down and suddenly became terrified. On his second and third climbs he became a lot more brave.
He also love these bungee trampolines. He did front and back flips and got high up in the air.
Both Mia and Alex could have stayed in the corn pit all day.
Also this month Brandon and I went to Frightmares at Lagoon with some neighbor friends. We hadn't been to Lagoon in many years so it was a lot of fun. We loved trying out Cannibal and even attempted a haunted house (which turned out to be very lame).
Alex and I had a date this month. We went to see Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life. I was prepared for the worst but we both actually really liked it. I love spending time with this kid.
As always we hosted our annual Halloween party this month. It is always fun to see all the kids in costume and play games.
This year Mia (with our help) decided to be Belle for Halloween. The first time we put on her costume she was not a huge fan but once everyone showed up and started doting on her she really soaked up all the attention and loved being Belle.
Boo was super excited for the party!
Such cute little princesses.
This year Alex decided he wanted to be Dipper from Gravity Falls for Halloween. Not everyone knew who he was but we thought it was pretty awesome.
Making mummies. This was much harder than we thought, especially with cheap toilet paper. Luckily Jessica was a practiced pro and showed us how it's done.
We also played Halloween Movie Scene It that was a lot of fun.
We also had to hit up the local pumpkin patch to get some pumpkins. Every year there are more and more activities at the pumpkin patch which makes it a lot of fun.
I still can't resist a picture of her sleeping.
Kenzie and Mia making music!
Mia was sitting on top of them yelling, "Yee Haw!"
Alex was the star student in his class during October. As part of it he got to bring home the class bear for the weekend.
We also got flu-shots this month. Alex has been dreading this day since we got his shot last year. Last year we had to physically hold him down while he screamed. This year he took it like a champ and didn't even make a peep. Mia even did pretty good. It helped that the Pharmacist gave them candy before and after the shot.
Halloween parade at school. Mia loved watching all the costumes go by.
I got to help out at Alex's school party again this year. Luckily I didn't have to plan it this time but just got to show up and help. It was a lot of fun!
Oh snap chat is too much fun. I don't actually post on snap chat, we just love checking out all the crazy filters.
For my birthday at the end of the month Brandon and I caught a double feature at the movies. While there I couldn't resist becoming a troll. I think I pull it off nicely.
I had a wonderful birthday this year. I was very spoiled!
Brandon and the kids got me a Belle's Castle Lego set. Mia immediately pulled it out and claimed it as hers.
Then we told her it wasn't hers but mine and she was not pleased.
Cafe Rio birthday dinner.
On Sunday we celebrated my birthday with my family.
I had a lot of cute helpers to open my presents.
Brandon got me an amazing birthday cake from Schmidts Bakery. It was so good.
We had a great time carving pumpkins again this year. As usual Alex was not a fan of cleaning out the insides.
Alex decided to do a Paw Patrol pumpkin this year. He did pretty much the whole thing all by himself. Brandon really only helped clean it up at the end. It was pretty impressive.
