June

June was a fun month! It was nice to be done with school and so many things that keep us busy.  The weather was very rainy and cool this month which was nice.

At the beginning of June the kids had their last days of school.  I got to help in a class party for Mia.  They had set up a fun photo booth as part of the party.

Always making creepy faces!

On the very last day I picked Mia up expecting her to be excited and thrilled for Summer.  Instead she started sobbing.  She said she is so sad 3rd grade is over and is going to miss her teachers.  I'm glad she had such a great year. She is already looking forward to going back in the fall.

Early in June we also had another crazy hail storm.  I think this is the most hail I've ever seen.  It lasted quite a while.  Alex and Mia even wanted to try going out in it.  They are crazy!

Mia is definitely a morning person!

Even though it is summer Mia still has quite a bit of dance.  She has to do 3 weeks of Summer intensive classes and then is doing some tumbling classes as well.  She loves going so much and loves picking out dance outfits even more. She has loved meeting her new team and making new friends.

Also, in the summer there is time to do some fun extra classes. She loves taking an aerial silks class.

Before our summer got too crazy we wanted to check out a Bees game.  It wasn't a very busy game which meant we got great seats.  We ate lots of yummy food and enjoyed the summer baseball.  It is best way to spend a summer night!

Mia refuses to pose with any mascots or characters so this is the best I could get.

Also in June we got to spend a weekend in Park City.  The weather was rainy on and off all weekend but we were still able to do everything we wanted to.  It was a lot of fun!

We swam a ton! Luckily the pool was heated so it was nice and warm.

We got delicious donuts from the Mirror Lake Chevron.

We also spent a lot of time at the Olympic park.

We went ziplining.  It was Mia's first time and she loved it!

We did the alpine slide.

We did the ropes course.  It doesn't look that hard from pictures but was actually quite difficult.  This was the easiest course too.  Mia was pretty nervous the whole time but completed the whole thing.  Right at the end they spotted lightning so we had to leave for the day.

Instead we got some delicious dinner at Collie's Sports Bar and Grill. We always like to stop at the book store and get some ice cream after as well.

The next day Brandon and Alex headed back to the Olympic park to try out the rest of the things they didn't get to the day before.  Mia had already done everything she could do so we stayed back this time.  Alex and Brandon did two bigger ropes courses and a bungee jump as well.  Alex said they were very high and scary but he did it all!

After they got back we all headed to the Park Silly festival.  There were tons of booths set up along main street.  It was tons of fun and we found tons of cool booths.  Unfortunately it started raining pretty hard so we didn't stay as long as we would have liked.  There were tons of people, dogs and food.  It was pretty cool!

We finished the afternoon with more swimming.  We got the pool all to ourselves which is always more fun!

We also got to go bowling with some the Hettinger family this month.  It was a ton of fun!

Mia has some great celebratory dances.

Always snuggling.

This month we got to celebrate our favorite dad! Even though we didn't feel as busy this month we did a lot of projects around the house.  After working all day Brandon came home every night to do more projects.  He works so hard and is the best dad! It was another dark and rainy day in June.

We also took the kids on a quick hike this month.  We finally made it up the the Draper Suspension bridge.  We've been meaning to go for a few years.  It is a pretty short hike but it was getting hot.  Alex loved it, Mia tolerated it.

Mia was very nervous on the bridge and was excited to get off again.

June was also a big month for Alex.  He finally got braces this month.  Many of his friends have already had them and are done with them.  Here is the before and after.  He shouldn't have to keep them on very long at least so that is good!

At the end of the month Mia's birthday celebrations began.  We went out for a birthday dinner at HuHot Mongolian Grill which is Mia's favorite place. It was delicious as always!
