The Clements: March

March is the start of our crazy spring. We stayed very busy all month but had a great time!

The first day of the month Mia had her Showcase and we got to see all the dances she's been working on all year. They were so great and she did a great job. It was so fun to see all her hard work pay off!

Their hip hop dance was Spider-man. it was so cute!

They also did a contemporary dance called Angels. It was beautiful!

Lots of family came to see Mia dance. She is so lucky to have so much support.

Their last dance was Jazz called Juicy Wiggle. It was such a fun dance. I loved the choreography!

Even though she had just danced all night Mia really wanted to make it to their school skate night at Classic Skating. So we raced across the valley so they could skate for a few hours.

Once again Mindi took some class pictures for me of my preschool class. They are so cute!

Next up Mia had her first competition/convention of the year. This one was NRG in Layton. It was a lot of fun!

This competition took professional photos and gives everyone free access to them. It was awesome!

This month Boo celebrated another birthday. She is now 15 years old. It is crazy we have had her that long but we are so grateful for every day we get with her. She is definitely feeling her age but overall seems happy and content. She is the best! We got her a cookie to celebrate.

I texted Brandon and picture of what he was missing. He took a work trip to Chicago this month.

He spent four days at a conference but took lots of cool pictures.

He even snuck in some time to go to the Disney 100th exhibit that was in town. He took a lot of pictures!

The kids were excited he was home, especially since he brought them candy.

Another weekend meant another dance competition. This time it was for Mia's solo. I really love Solo competitions. They are much more low key and low stress. It was just Mia and me hanging out.

Of course right before she went on the Judges needed to switch things up so she had to sit and wait for about five minutes before she could start.

She did amazing!

Mia really wanted to win a tiara this year and at this competition her dream came true! She got first place in her category and got a platinum score. They didn't do overall score awards but I bet she would have been high up. She was so excited!

The next day she was still enjoying her tiara.

This year Mia had the strategy that she was going to make a really nice house for the leprechaun instead of a trap and that would entice him to stay. She spent the night before St. Patrick's day creating him a beautiful home!

Sadly it still didn't work and the leprechaun didn't hang around but he did hide some delicious treats anyway.

St Patrick's day was on a Sunday this year so I had to get a picture of their matching greens.

This month I also took my preschool class on a field trip to Discovery Gateway. It was a crazy day down town because of March Madness but we all made it and had a great time.

The next weekend it was time for Hollywood Dance Jamz. Mia loved this competition and convention. We stayed the night because we had a very early call time Saturday morning so it was fun to make a whole weekend of it.

Mia danced all day Friday and then had to be up very early Saturday to compete and then take more classes until Saturday night. She was tired!

This is a small glimpse of what the classes are like. The rooms are not that big and they are packed with girls. Mia loves the classes even more than competing. They get to do lots of different kinds of dance including tap and ballroom.

Dinner Break.

The best part of this convention was that Brandon came up very early Saturday morning to see Mia compete and then stayed the day to hang out with me while Mia was in class. This made the day way more fun!

Alex spent the day at Lagoon with his friends and Brandon went to pick them up on his way home. Alex was apparently exhausted!

Finally it was time for Spring Break! Brandon was able to take two of the days off work as well. First up we saw the new Ghostbusters movie. It was a lot of fun!

We also spent a few hours at Nicklemania.

We played a few board games during the week including Pretty Pretty Princesses. Alex ended up winning but wouldn't wear his jewelry.

We spent one day at Rush. We did all the fun activities including bowling a few rounds.

Mia's victory dances were the best.

Easter weekend was packed with lots of fun activities. Our Ward had an Easter egg hunt. We ended up in charge of the breakfast and they asked Brandon to do the Candy Cannon. I don't have many pictures because I had to leave to get Alex from Baseball practice.

Next up were the usual traditions at Grandma Hettingers. We had an egg hunt and decorated Easter eggs. It was a lot of fun!

After the festivities we headed to Hale Center Theater to see Clue. Alex wanted to see his French teacher who played the piano in it. Sadly his teacher had switched and wasn't in our performance after all. It was very silly and a lot of fun. Our kids were laughing very hard!

Finally it was Easter morning. Mia really wanted to find eggs before we had to be at church at 9:00 am. We got up as early as we could so we had time to find a few eggs but not all of them.
