April

April made me tired.  We packed a lot of fun into the month!

Luckily we started off the month with a week of spring break.  We didn't have any major plans but still stayed pretty busy.  Mia has been begging to go to Color Me Mine since she went for a birthday party.  We went as a family and had a lot of fun! Our creations turned out great!

Trying to keep Ripley from going downstairs one morning to keep her from waking up Alex.  She is just too excited to see him every morning.

We got a hot tip about where to find dumplings one day so Mia and I drove in a spring break snow storm to get some.

Alex dressed in full snow gear to take Ripley for a walk during said snow storm.  She came back soaking wet.

She really grew accustomed to having Alex home all week.

Not sure what is happening here.

One night we went on a short hike with the Young Women.  The views were great!

Alex and I had to attend a Driver's Safety class together for his driver's ed one night.  He is pretty excited about it.

I had to document the snow on my beautiful phlox.  Sadly some of our plants and trees did not fair very well with the cold days.

One Saturday Alex went and worked as a referee all day.  He was very tired by the end of the day!

We had a great Easter.  We fit in all the usual traditions although I didn't take very many pictures.

Easter morning was also General Conference morning. I don't love when they are on the same weekend but we enjoyed a slow Easter morning.

We hunted for eggs and baskets.  Ripley was very helpful!

The Easter Bunny even brought a basket for Ripley.  She was very excited!

After all the hunting we were able to sit and enjoy conference.

After conference we headed to Grandma Clements' house for the annual egg hunt and a delicious dinner.

Alex had a few different track meets this month.  He did a great job and is having a lot of fun!

April was filled with tons of dance.  Streets was three straight days of dance.  Mia competed her solo first.  This was a little rough because they started playing the wrong music.  We finally got it straightened out and she was a little off her game but did a great job overall.

This time we were able to stay in a hotel for a few nights.  It is nice to have a place to hang out during the long days but we miss being at home too.

The next weekend was her solo at America On Stage. She did really well at this one and got first in her category and a high ranking.

As a last minute Mother's Day present Brandon got me tickets to see Phantom of the Opera and Eccles Theater.  I got an amazing seat and loved seeing it so much!

Next up was another long weekend at Vibe.  This time we didn't get a hotel room but Brandon was able to spend some of the time with me.  He even took Mia to her first dance in the morning while I was teaching school.

My favorite is seeing her laugh and have fun with friends.  So many meals on the floor!

The last Sunday of the month we tried to go up to Logan to celebrate Kenzie's birthday. Alex was driving it a mildly scary rainstorm.  We made it all the way to Willard when the car in front of us started dropping things out the back.  Alex handled it perfectly but we ran over something and ended up with a flat tire.  A nice cop helped us out and we were able to put on the spare but we weren't able to make it all the way to Logan.  Luckily we did make it home slowly but safely.  It was a long day and we were disappointed to miss out on Kenzie's party but glad we were safe!

At the end of the month Mia got to participate in the 6th grade French wax museum.  She decided to dress up as Ruth Handler (the inventor of Barbie).  She presented to both French and English.  It was very impressive!

It was a great month and we are glad we survived!
