Easter Weekend

This year Easter was not just a one day celebration but a weekend extravaganza. We were very busy but had a lot of fun visiting with family and celebrating the resurrection of Christ. It was a great weekend.

Here is Alex in his Easter outfit. His face may look like this because we took this picture after making him suffer through three hours of church and only taking an hour long nap.

On Saturday we celebrated with the Hettinger's by dying Easter eggs and playing games. Alex had a good time playing with Grandpa.

Intense Easter Egg creation happening...

These are the eggs Brandon and I dyed. They include an Alex head, one with Alex's name, a New York Yankees logo and a picture of Boo.

Here is Alex checking out his Easter loot from Grandma and Grandpa Clements. He was a spoiled boy.

Mikah and Max checking out their baskets.

We hunted for Easter Eggs at Grandma Clements house. With some help Alex found a lot of eggs.

Boo even got to have some fun this weekend. She got to play with Koda.

Koda even shared her water...sort of.

Having Alex with us makes holidays even more fun. It was a great weekend. Even though Alex didn't get his regular naps in he was happy and had a lot of fun. He is such an easy going kid. We are lucky to have him.

11 Months

I know I say this every month but I can hardly believe that Alex is 11 months old. Just one more month until the big one year mark. Despite the unwelcome snow, we are having a lot of fun. Alex now has four teeth. His upper teeth are pretty awesome looking.
He is still refusing to wear shoes.

Boo is also depressed by the snowy weather.

Best Friends :) Alex is doing lots of standing but no walking yet. He is too busy crawling to waste his time with it.

No More Mullets

Even though his cousin Sadie said that Alex had "luscious" hair earlier this week we decided that he was in need of yet another haircut. It was starting to look very "mullety" and he was mistaken for a girl several times. I don't have a very good "before" picture to show how long it really was. This time we decided to try and go a little shorter.
Brandon did most of the cutting and for not knowing what we were doing I think it turned out pretty good. Now I think he looks more like a little boy and less like a baby...which makes me a little sad.

Back on the Mountain

Yesterday Brandon and I were able to head back up the mountain (after a two year break) and do some snowboarding. I was anxious to get this post up so I no longer have to see the pictures of the "Alex Incident" every time I pulled up my blog.

Because I was pregnant last year I wasn't able to do any snowboarding. I was worried that going this year would be like starting over. I was relieved to find that I was even a little better than I remembered. Although I did spend much of the day bruising my tailbone.

Brandon was of course a pro as always. He was kind enough to spend about half the day on the "bunny hill" with me.

It was a great day to go because the weather was beautiful and it was very empty. Hopefully in the next few years we will be able to go a little more often.

Proceed With Caution...

WARNING!!! Do not view this post if you have a weak stomach or you are feint of heart. The pictures are extremely disturbing.

The back story: For ten blissful months I have been able to spend every day at home with Alex. Every morning I have gotten up with him. Every morning I have fed him his breakfast. Every morning, until this morning. A few weeks ago I signed up to be a sub in Jordan School District to help bring in a little extra money. Yesterday I did an afternoon job but this morning was my first day leaving before Alex was awake. He is always such a great sleeper. One morning last week he even slept in until 10:45. So I was sure that Brandon would get a nice morning to sleep in and spend with his son. I was very wrong. About half way through my sub job these pictures were sent to my phone. I was horrified...

The only text accompanying these pictures was, "That's not chocolate pudding."

I am so grateful that Brandon washed, cleaned and scrubbed Alex, his crib, and all of his clothes and linens. I am so grateful that Alex chose today of all days to do this in his crib.

Happy 10 months buddy!

Baby Max

Yesterday, March 6, 2011 Maximus Roger Clements joined our family.

Brandon and I only got to spend a few short seconds with him but we are excited to get to spend more time with him soon.

Mom and Baby are doing great. Max looks just like his older brother Mikah.

Mikah and Alex had a great time in the waiting room playing with dinosaurs.

Alex's Surgery

Yesterday Alex had to have a little minor surgery. Even though it wasn't a very big deal I was very nervous about it. As usual Alex handled it perfectly and today he is acting like his old self. We had the surgery at Riverton Hospital. We had to arrive at 7:15 in the morning and we were all done by about noon.

Here is Alex dressed in his "gown" waiting to meet with the nurse.

They had these cars in the waiting room while we waited for the doctor to be ready. The most traumatizing part of the whole thing was handing him over to the doctor and leaving to wait out in the waiting room. I guess I thought I would get to stay with him through more of the process.

It was very weird to hold him as he was coming out of the anesthesia. He was very sleepy and hungry but then he would suddenly thrash around for no reason.
This is the most he has cuddled with me in a long time.

The rest of the day Alex slept except for when it was time to eat. He was pretty cranky, at least for his standards. Today he is all better. He has played toys most of the day and didn't require much pain medication. I am very glad it is over with and that it all went well.
